We have a kid on our 9U team who has been with us for a couple of years now.  Great kid, great attitude, coachable, very athletic and competitive and his parents are great as well.  But, when we get into a game situation, when he makes an error or fails to get a hit during an at bat-he virtually loses control of his emotions.  We've tried taking him out, letting him cool down and talking with him, etc.  His parents have been both tough and easy on him, both to no avail...Do you have any ideas or tools we/he may use to combat this?

At that age i used to be just like that, and I dont think that there is anything that anyone could really have done to make me get over it.  I just kinda grew out of it, and now i am one who rarely shows any emotion at all on the field, regardless if i give up a hr or hit one.  I am a strong beleiver in not letting the opposing team know anything about what i am thinking.  The more you reveal about yourself, the more they can use it against you
